Circuit Analysis – Week #4 Lab

Circuit Analysis – Week #4 Lab

This week’s lab is based on the application of circuit analysis techniques to evaluate an RLC circuit in Multisim.

1. The switch in the circuit below has been open a long time before closing a t=0. Find iL(t) for t ? 0 through the 20mH inductor.

Calculated Measured iL(0-) iL(?) iL(t) for t ? 0 ?o

3. Construct the circuit above in Multisim. a. Run simulation to measure the current through the inductor (Use 5% tolerances for each of the resistors) b. Take the screen capture for the measurements for your measurements. 4. Answer the following questions: a. Are the measured values same as calculated values? If not, explain why they are different? b. What is the Neper frequency, ?o , of the circuit? 5. Create a new word document called “Lab4_StudentID.docx” with your GID substituted into the file name. 6. Save the analysis from step 2 and simulation results from step 3 along with the table and screen captures of all the measurements. Make sure to answer the questions in step 4. 7. Upload file “Lab4_StudentID”.
